Obituary for Edwin F. Scotton Jr. Edwin (Ted) Scotton Jr., 81, died suddenly Wednesday afternoon September 1, 2004. Born in Long Beach, California, he has been a resident of Manhattan Beach since 1932. After completing service with the Navy in the South Pacific during WW II, he married Arline and raised four sons. Following in his own father’s footsteps he built residential homes throughout the South Bay during the years following the war and into the 1980’s. There are few neighborhoods in the South Bay that do not have some of his handiwork. The original Scotton home can still be seen across from the Manhattan Mall on Sepulveda near 27th Street. It was built when Sepulveda was a quiet two lane strip of concrete in a little beach town that was mainly dirt roads. This was a time when Ted and his brother chased rabbits in the marsh fields that are now LAX. Having lost Arline in 1998, Ted is survived and remembered by his sons Steven and Michael, EdwinIII (Scott) and his wife Martha and their children Sarah and Edwin IV(Joe) and David and his daughter Arline.
