Edward Perry Disbrow Jr. April 11, 1917 - July 8, 2011
Born in Worchester, MA. Son of Dr. E.P. Disbrow and Phyllis Disbrow. Married Classical High (& Lasell College) sweetheart Lucille LaRiviere (70th anniversary Nov 2010). Distinguished WWII service (top Sgt.) including rescuing serviceman from drowning. Engineering (Rensselaer and WPI) with career in aerospace (retired as lead Facilities Engineer for a million sq. ft. building) from 1950-1980.
Traveled the USA and world extensively: most everywhere of note in 49 states (experienced Scandinavia instead of Alaska); Canada; all countries of Europe including France 5 times, the Greek Isles, Russia; Mexico to (and in) the Panama Canal; South America; Australia; Japan and China.
Manhattan Beach 1950 to 1966 then Torrance, where wife resides with their son, EPD III "Buz" a marketing & freelance writer. Daughter Diana is a corporate executive director & was an Artists Agent for Bolshoi ballet dancers. Two grand- daughters, Cherine is an Associate College Dean and Monique (housewife) was a featured character dancer in the Long Beach, CA ballet (Husband Ryan Seitz, great grandkids Karissa & Parker).
He gave us (Diana & Buz) a "fantasy" childhood in Manhattan Beach, had a great sense of humor and a very likeable guy to everyone. Favorite moment: Celebrating our Golden Anniversary surrounded by loved ones on the Queen Mary.
