Morgan, Edward Jerome "Eddie," a 56 year resident of the South Bay, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 in Torrance. Born Sept. 19, 1921 in Denver, CO, Eddie had served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. Eddie was a member of St. Lawrence Martyr Catholic Parish. He enjoyed photography, gardening, and was famous for his tomatoes. A self-studied chemist, he was an expert on fats, oils, and cholesterol and was renowned in his field and well respected. He is survived by Daughter, Sallie Morgan of Fairfield, IA; Daughter, Karen (Doug) Brown of Georgetown, TX; Daughter, Michelle Morgan of Bartlett, IL; Sister, Catherine Frew of Torrance, CA; many nieces and nephews; 6 Grandchildren, and 7 Great Grandchildren. Preceded in death by Son, Christopher Morgan; Wife of 57 years, Beverly Anderson; Brother George Morgan; Father, Creed Morgan; and Mother, Margaret Morgan. A gathering of family & friends will be held at Rice Mortuary in Torrance from 5 to 7pm on Sunday May 6, 2007. A Rosary follows at 7pm. Service will be held at St. Lawrence Martyr Catholic Church in Redondo Beach on Monday at 9am. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Culver City. A Reception will then be held at Rice Mortuary's Lighthouse Reception Room.
