McIver, Edward Crowell April 25, 1922 - June 14, 2006 Edward passed away at the age of 84 on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 after a brief bought with pneumonia in Little Company of Mary Hospital. He was born in Chicago on April 25, 1922. Edward proudly served his country from November 1942 until his Honorable Discharge from the United States Navy on February 27, 1946 as a member of the 55th Naval Construction Battalion. He earned the Asiatic-Pacific Area, 1 Star Victory Medal in World War II. He worked in Personnel at the Ford Motor Company and when he retired, he worked as a volunteer at Robert F. Kennedy Hospital for many years. He will e remembered for his love of the ocean, Jazz, the big bands, movies and "page turner" novels. He will be missed by his daughter, Rosemarie Bailey and son-in-law Abraham Levine; sister-in-law Betty Beli; three grandchildren Steve Nilsson (& wife Debbie), Mike Nilsson (&wife Deanne) and Debi Bailey; 4 great-grandchildren Amanda, Kyle, Katie and Megan Nilsson. He will also be missed by the residents and staff at Pacific Inn Senior Living. Friends and family will celebrate "Ed's" life on June 20, 2006 with a service beginning at Rice Mortuary at 11:00 A.M., followed by a graveside service at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes. Viewing will be from 10:00 A.M. to the time of the service.
