Douglas
Reese, Douglas Tyson Born March 1, 1928, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, to Elmer and Gertrude. Doug was a Navy veteran and moved his family to the South Bay in 1956, where he has resided ever since. He passed away on the afternoon of January 4, 2004. Doug is survived by his children, Michael (Susan), Daniel (Jo Ann), Kathy Swenson (Roger), and Jennifer; three granddaughters (Erin, Sarah, and Jessica); two great-granddaughters (Bethaney and Genevieve). He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty and daughters, Patricia and Sharon. Doug was an active member of Resurrection Lutheran Church, Redondo Beach; the Manhattan Beach Property Owners Association; the Boy Scouts of America; and the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America. He also worked as a guide at the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium in San Pedro. A memorial service will be held at Resurrection Lutheran Church, Saturday, January 10 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions may be made to Resurrection Lutheran Church, 330 Palos Verdes Boulevard, Redondo Beach, CA 90277; or the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, 3720 Stephen M. White Drive, San Pedro, CA 90731.
