Dorothy Wiering

Dorothy M. Wiering was born March 16, 1928 in Brush, Colorado to Nels and Dagny Nielsen. On April 14, 1948, Dorothy was united in marriage to Arthur H. Wiering at St. Dionysius Catholic Church in Tyler, MN. Together the couple lived and farmed near Tyler, MN until November 1962 when they moved to California. Dorothy was a stay at home Mom until the children were in High School and then she was a baker at a local restaurant, The Country Touch in Torrance, CA. After her retirement, Dorothy loved to bake for her family, neighbors and friends. She also enjoyed reading and doing word search puzzles. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Dorothy passed away Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the Silverado Care Center in Redondo Beach, CA at the age of 86 years, 7 months. Dorothy is survived by her children, Nancy Patrick of Torrance, CA, Larry (Drusila) Wiering of Cerritos, CA and Lynn Rose of Torrance, CA; three grandchildren, Janine Patrick, Sean Patrick and Larry Wiering Jr; sibling Howard Nielsen of Faribault, MN and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Arthur Wiering and her parents.
