Dorothy Jepsen Alexander was born May 11, 1922 in Dwight, Illinois and passed away March 4, 2011 in Torrance, California. She was a resident of Torrance for 70 years. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Donald, and her four daughters Judy James of Torrance, Barbara Alexander of Redondo Beach, Donna (Ed) Gabaldon of Torrance, and Vicki (Ed) Cuthbertson of Huntington Beach. She has eight grandchildren, Lisa, Yvette, Stacy, Rich, Steve, Shannon, Heather, and Christine, and nine great grandchildren, Jake, Zach, Nick, Luke, Katie, Sydney, Brady, Ty, and Skylar. She was employed by Harvey Aluminum (Martin Marietta) for 33 years, retiring in 1980 as the Communications Manager. She was a horse racing enthusiast and enjoyed many nights betting at Hollywood Park and Los Alamitos Racetrack. Her laughter was contagious and she was the best joke teller in the world. She loved bowling, tennis, softball, card playing, and traveling but mostly enjoyed time with her family. A family gathering was held in her memory. Play a game of cards or place a bet in her honor.
