Dorothy Jamison Evans "Betty" slipped away on her own terms of natural causes, July 28, 2005. She was 87. She was pre-deceased by her husband Chester and her oldest son Louis. She is survived by her son Harry, his wife Dawneva, granddaughter Chelsea as well as Lou's wife Sharon and their children Kim and Guy. Dorothy was born in Denver, Colorado and lived on a cattle ranch in Arizona. She finished high school in Los Angeles and attended college at St. Mary's College in Levenworth, Kansas. She was a resident of the South Bay for the rest of her life. As an avid rock hound and lapidarist for decades, she enjoyed arts and crafts of all kinds and was still teaching others until the end. She was the founding curator and member of the community that established Sand Dune Park in Manhattan Beach. She will be greatly missed by many. Services to be held August 5, 2005, 10:00AM at St. Cross by the Sea in Hermosa Beach.
