Donna Divinski, born September 2, 1933 to Fred and Orrilla Whiting died April 7, 2002 after a courageous five-year battle with breast cancer. Beloved wife of Richard Divinski for fifty years, Donna leaves behind seven children and seven grandchildren. They are: Son Paul, and daughter-in-law, Theresa, Kwajalein, Marshall Islands; Son, Mike, Hilo, Hawaii; Daughter, Jane and son-in-law, John Alexander, Elizabeth, Deanna and Douglas, Los Altos, CA; Daughter, Cathy Bell and son-in-law, Scott Bell, Caryn and Courtney, Torrance, CA; Son, Dan and daughter-in-law, Kristie, Philip-Daniel and Maelyn, Alpharetta, GA; Daughter, Mary, San Jose, CA, Daughter, Becky Throckmorton and son-in-law, Frank Throckmorton, Sunnyvale, CA. Besides taking great joy in her family Donna devoted her life to teaching. She earned a Master's Degree in Education from Pepperdine Graduate School of Education and Psychology and held two Professional Clear Teaching Credentials Donna was the youngest of eleven children. Living brothers and sisters are: Lee and (Dorothy) Whiting, Ortonville, MN, Bea and (Alva) Benshoof, New Prague, MN and Mary and (Russ) Olson, Las Vegas, NV. Other surviving sister-in-laws are Gustie Whiting, Martinez, CA and Stella Whiting, Waterville, MN. In addition to beloved sister and brother-in-laws in the Divinski family Donna leaves many nieces, nephews, god-children and friends to celebrate her life. Donna is greatly missed by her family and friends. Celebration of life and visitation will be held at White & Day Colonial Mortuary 901 Torrance Blvd, Redondo Beach on Monday April 15th from 4-8 pm .The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St.Catherine Laboure Church 3846 Redondo Beach Blvd, Torrance, Ca on Tuesday April 16th at 10am. Internment following at Holy Cross Cemetery Culver City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
