November 21, 2002 Dear friends and family, Today at 11:05 am my Father Donald Leon Seydel passed away very peacefully at Little Company of Mary Hospital at the age of 71. I was very fortunate to be with him at the time with my brother Ron's wife Paula who works at this hospital. It was a great comfort for me to have Paula there. Today is my parent's 43rd Wedding Anniversary. For many years my Mother has taken excellent care of my father during his convalescence. Today Mom just completed a much deserved vacation in New Zealand visiting my Sister Eva, she'll be back home tomorrow. She has their affairs so completely in order there really wasn't much for any of us to do beyond notifying the people whom she had already made arrangements with and comfort each other. Attached is one of my favorite pictures of my Father as a proud young man. He carried this photo in his wallet to the end. Although as a Boy Scott Master my Father taught me how to build a 1st place pine wood derby car, and without him I would have never made it through Algebra, we also enjoyed playing chess, ping pong and pool together, I could go on - I see him right now as he is shown in this picture enjoying peace, as we did when we were fishing together on a hot sunny lake. Dad you will be in my most pleasant thoughts often and I hope they're bitin for you. Love Rob
