Fortier, Donald Eugene, a 35 year resident of Hawthorne, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2008 in San Pedro. Born in Saginaw, MI, Donald was 70 when he died. He is survived by his loving Wife, Patricia Fortier of Hawthorne, CA, Daughter, Melissa Finlin of Hawthorne, CA, Daughter, Kimberly Fortier of Hawthorne, CA, Sister, Dorothy Barror of MI, Sister, Joyce Clites of IL; and 5 Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Charles and Dorothy Fortier. A gathering of family & friends will be held at Rice Mortuary Chapel on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. The Service will also be held at Rice Mortuary Chapel on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Inglewood Park Cemetery in Inglewood. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to...The Heart Association.

  1. I just found out today and I’m very sorry. I will miss seeing Don in his garage the next time i’m in town. Missy my heart goes out to you, I hate to think of you without your father, he was a wonderful smart man. I will pray for you and your family. As for memories there are many, Like the first time I went 4×4 with the family, I thought along with everyone else that we would not make it back.   4. i am so very sorry and also very sad.it seems so unreal.the day before his accident i was just wishing you guys were coming this year.i feel so bad for being so wrapped up in my own problemslast year to even be good company.one thing i will always remember is when i came home from the hospital it hurt to bad to get out of the truck so everyone left me there….except uncle don.he said he would be there until i was ready even if it took all night.and he was.he made sure i held his arm til i got to my chair.that means more to me than any gift.he was one of the most caring,generous gentle man i have ever known.god must need alot of old cars restored up there.if any of you ever need me for anything you know where i am.i love you all so much.take care of yourselves and each other.love stacey

  5. I want to express to you my deepest sympathies. I am so sorry for your loss. Although there have been many years since our last visit, I will miss Uncle Don. I will always remember him in his garage. I was very impressed with the way he could turn an old beat up heap into a beautiful showpiece. I feel very lucky to have the memories of glamis & the dune buggy days.
