GLICK, DONALD E. a 33 year resident of Redondo Beach , passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2002 in Torrance, CA. He was born Feb. 20, 1929 in Oblong, Illinois, was a graduate of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH and was in the insurance industry for over 30 years. Donald was an avid golfer since childhood, he was a member of the Rio Hondo Men's Club in Downey and frequently played with his friends of the Westrey Golf Club. He is survived by his Son, Ray Glick of Redondo Beach, CA. Services will be on Wednesday, May 8, 2002 at 2:00 PM at the chapel on the grounds of PACIFIC CREST CEMETERY, 2701 W. 182nd St.. (at Inglewood Ave.), Redondo Beach, CA., 90278. Entombment will follow at Pacific Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may me made in Donald's memory to The American Diabetes Association.
Mr. Glick was a major influence in my childhood. His son Ray and I played L.L and Pony Lge baseball together as long with Pop Warner and high school football .Mr Glick was a kind man and very generous especially during baseball and football seasons(After many games he would take the whole team for pizza. He also was a former scout for the Cleveland Indians. Ray, Brian Atkinson ,Randy Engel and myself went to countless of Angel games through out the years we hung out together. Just the mention of Don Glick\’s brings back only good times for not only me but my whole family.Sincerely Timothy J.Fargher
