Chickering, Donald ''Chick'' - a resident of Torrance, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2003 in Torrance. Born in Detroit, MI, Chick was 78 when he died. He is survived by Daughter, Mary Brougher of Playa Del Rey, CA, Son, Steven Chickering of PA, Brother, Burt Chickering of MI., and grandchildren, Joshua, Kaitlyn and Hannah

Dear family, I was a schoolmate at Central High in Detroit. Don was a senior, I, a freshman-but he was a superior athlete and great guy . I was at all the basketball games he played in his senior year. I was in awe of his skill and spirit. He was a hero to this freshman and very friendly to all that got to know him. I will always remember Don and the team and the war years at Central. I grieve for your family at this loss and I grieve for the loss of a boyhood idol.God bless you all. Ralph Marcus. P.S.
