  1. candle 1I am very grateful to have known Grandma. I joined the family about a year ago and she has always made me feel welcome. I loved getting to know her and will miss her advice she gave me every time I had the chance to visit with her.

  2. This morning my heart is heavy with the loss of a woman who had a substantial impact on my life and the lives of so many others. Djanira was a mother, a grandma, a 2nd grandma, a sister, and a friend to so many people. She often showed her love for us through her food. If she had it, it was yours. Whether it was rice and beans, or her wisdom which she gave freely. She never asked for anything in return except for PEACE. She used to always say “You’re gonna miss me when I’m gone” and she was so right! This woman was everything! And now this world has to keep going without her. I will never forget her. She had a part in any and every success I celebrate. She gave me my first job cleaning up around the apartment building she managed. She helped me develop a strong work ethic! I wish my daughter could have had a chance to know her. She is the person who introduced me to Lord of the Rings. I will think about her every time I watch it. When my grandma moved to Texas, she helped me to cope by acting as a second grandma. I am so honored to have known her and to have been loved by her.

“Go in peace! I will not say: do not weep; for not all tears are an evil.” Djanira I love you so much. Rest In Peace.
