Diane Norma Condon, a native of Hollywood, CA and an original member of St. Lawrence Martyr, baptized at St. James, passed on Friday, July 9, 2004, in the home she built in 1948 in Redondo Beach. Diane (88) was an organizer of the early Democratic Party in the South Bay, a charter member of KHYC, and Past Grand Regent of Catholic Daughters, and retired Library Clerk of City of Redondo Beach. She was pre-deceased by her husband John and daughters Nicola and Denise (Gardner) of Oakland. She is survived by daughters: Terese Condon of Torrance, Bona Condon-Grunberg of Redondo Beach and Dr. Conna Condon of Torrance. Grandchildren: William, Thomas, Maire, Elisabeth Gardner and John Condon; Nicola, John and Kathy Moonitz; John and Christina Phillips; Alyc, Devon and Sean Helms; and 13 great-grandchildren. A rosary will be held Sunday, July 11 at 7:00 PM at White and Day's Colonial Mortuary, 901 Torrance Blvd. in Redondo Beach. Mass will be Monday, July 12 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow with procession to Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, CA. A wake to celebrate her life will be held at the family home after mass.
