Debra Lynn Curtis
Born October 5, 1957 in Gardena, California, Debi was the first born to Bill and Donna Witt. She was a sweet and caring young child. Debi often loved going to help her grandparents tend to their horses. She would often talk of one of her favorite horses named Chips. Debi rode her first horse at the early age of 9 months with the assistance of course from her grandparents. She also enjoyed raising show rabbits and taking the bunnies to compete at various fairs. She truly had a love for animals and all living creatures.
When in High School Debi joined the Drill Team, as well as, played the clarinet in the band with her brother David. She had many friends and enjoyed their company. While growing up she attended North Redondo Chapel with her family. After High School, she went on to work for Western Plastics with her Grandma.
In October of 78' she was sent on a blind date with a handsome coworker. They enjoyed a Dodgers game that evening and one month later the happy couple was engaged. They both were thankful for being set up on the date by her Grandma, who adored Wayne. Her Grandma knew they would be the perfect fit for each other. The following year in June Debi and Wayne were married.
Not long after they married they added to the family. First with William, then along came Kristina and by surprise Cynthia. Both worked at Hughes Aircraft early on in their married life, however, when Cynthia was very young they made the choice for her to stay home and raise the children. Debi did just that while also volunteering at the school and holding a board position on North Redondo Little League. She enjoyed following Wayne on his adventures in Fast Pitch softball. Often packing the kids up and traveling for weekend tournaments.
Debi was a beautiful soul who loved animals, her Native American culture, cooking shows, home improvement and most of all her family. A gentle soul who was always there for you even if she didn't agree with the situation. Her most treasured moments were spent with her two grandsons. They were the apple of her eye and she was so proud of both of them. The boys loved her just as much!!
Debi leaves behind her Mom Donna, husband Wayne, brother David, three children William, Kristina, Cynthia, two grandsons Pete and Austin, a son in law Carlos and many family and friends. Her silly laugh and kind smile will be greatly missed by all. Her love however will shine bright through the heart of her grandchildren.
