OBITUARY FOR DAVID L. FORBES
David Low Forbes, born in Philadelphia on June 16, 1919, passed away
peacefully on March 12, 2002 after a long illness. In World War II, he flew
51 missions in the 8th Air Force. He was shot down on fire and was a
prisoner of war in Germany for a year. After the war he moved to California
and had a career in aerospace. He was active in 40+ and served as its
president for 2 years.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sabra; two sons, Nathaniel and David,
and a daughter Pamela; 4 grandsons, Ashton and Thomas Forbes, and Frederic
and Edward Dulles; a granddaughter, Juliet; and 2 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 12, 2002, at 2PM at St.
Francis Episcopal Church in Palos Verdes Estates, California.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles
(www.childrenshospitalla.org) or St. Francis Episcopal Church.
Sabra, I\’ve had you in my thoughts and prayers during these difficult days since Dave\’s passing. Unfortunately, I will be in Hawaii (vacationing with my grandsons) next week and unable to be with you at the services — but my love is with you.
