Darlene Dawn Sowers (Dee), a 59-year resident of Hermosa Beach, California, passed away after an extended bout with an COPD illness on Thursday February 11, 2021 in Canyon Lake, California. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, Dee was 79 when she died. She is survived by her husband of 59 years Dennis Allen Sowers.

A brief service will be held at noon on March 20, 2021 at Green Hills Memorial Park, 27501 S. Western Ave., Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275. A Celebration of her Life will be held on her 80th birthday, June 21, 2021, at King Harbor.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society

    So very sorry on the loss of your beautiful wife Dee. She was a good friend. Memories come to mind like the time in Washington DC when Dee pushed you out of the boat into the water (Potomac we believe), and the nice dinners we shared here in Orange County and Long Beach (The Queen Mary).
    We remember how lovely she looked on our last get together.
    She wore an outfit that had flowing robes, will never forget it. She was such a lovely dresser. We’ll miss her laughter too. Take care dear friend.
