Daniel F. Kurzenski passed away peacefully in his sleep Friday, August 8, 2008 at his home in Torrance. He was 84 years old. Daniel was born on April 9, 1924 in Paramus, New Jersey. He served in the United States Army from 1944 - 1946. From 1946 - 1949 he worked in the South Pacific for the Atomic Energy Commission. His experience prepared him for his job at Northrop. Daniel worked as an air frame mechanic and then as a manager at Northrop for 30 years; he retired in 1979. While retired, he enjoyed working in his garage, gardening, and spending time with his family. He lived in Torrance and was an active member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church for over 50 years.
Daniel is survived by his loving wife, Katherine, of 55 years. He leaves behind one son, Ed (Heidi) Kurzenski of Honolulu, Hawaii, and one daughter, Florianne (Dan) Lampkins of Gardena. He will be dearly missed by his nine grandchildren, Davis, Rachel, and Heather Kurzenski, and Joanna, Joshua, Jana, Jennifer, Justin, and Jeremy Lampkins.
The viewing will be held at 5:00 PM and the rosary at 6:00 PM on Friday, August 15th at McCormick Mortuary in Gardena. The funeral will take place at 9:00 AM on Saturday, August 16th at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Gardena.
