November 9, 1958 ~ March 21, 2015
Services: Saturday, April 25, 2015
Daniel Chan was born on November 9, 1958 in Los Angeles, California. He passed away suddenly on March 21, 2015 at his home in Laguna Hills, California.
Dan was a quiet and reserved guy, yet he had that wry smile when a good joke was told by him or by others. He was a true "Jack of all Trades." He knew so much about practically anything and everything, and he was our family's walking encyclopedia. Because of his vast knowledge, he was able to connect and find common ground with many others.
Dan courageously endured many health issues. Yet, he soldiered on with a positive outlook and lived life to its fullest by pursuing many of his interests and passions. He loved volunteering his time and advocating for his animal friends via The Little Red Dog and through PETA. Dan was often on the internet encouraging others to sign petitions to help various animals, such as killer whales, wolves, and sharks. Some of his other passions included fencing, ballroom dancing, attending theatre and critiquing movies. He was the "Siskel and Ebert" of the family. He also loved the Dodgers and Star Trek. His favorite character was Mr. Spock.
Visitation and service will begin at 1:30 pm on Saturday April 25, 2015. A reception will follow at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Little Red Dog - www.TheLittleRedDog.com , PETA - www.PETA.org , National Kidney Foundation - www.Kidney.org , American Heart Association - www.heart.org .
