October 29, 1920 ~ September 5, 2001
A 57 -year resident of the South Bay, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 5,2001.
Dan was born in Strawn, Texas on October 29, 1920, the sixth child of Dan and Mattie Ince. Dan was raised in Spur, Texas and graduated in 1937 from Spur High School. He attended Texas A&M and earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He moved to California and began a 40 year career with Rockwell International. He married Helen McLennan in 1944 and raised 5 children. Dan was active in PTA, Little League, Scouts, and many family activities. He enjoyed his retirement years traveling, fishing, hunting,
woodworking, gardening and playing with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Helen of 57 years; daughter Beth Collier of Redondo Beach, sons Dan (Momi) of Lynwood, John (Raquel)of Torrance, Mike (Jane)of Manhattan Beach, and Mark (DeAnn) of Torrance. Also left to mourn are his
grandchildren Sean (Deanna) Rainey, Katrina (Mike) Collom, Dawn (Alfred) Espinoza, Nathan, Caleb, and Danielle Ince; great-grandchildren Matthew, Kayla, Luanne and Mandy Rainey, Tyler and Maddison Collom, and Victoria Espinoza.
Also left behind is a brother, Raymond Ince of San Antonio, Texas and sister Louise Wood of Odessa, Texas.
He was loved greatly by all family and friends and will be dearly missed.
A memorial service will be held Monday, September 10, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 301 Avenue D, Redondo Beach, CA, 90277.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations be made to Youth Ministries at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church.
