Hendricks, Cristina A., a 6 year resident of Camarillo, CA and former South Bay resident, passed away on Saturday, June 21st, 2008 in the comfort of her daughter's home. She was born in Los Angeles, California and was 61 years old when she passed. Growing up, Cristina, along with her family, picked fruit in the fields of such areas as Gilroy, Hollister, Salinas and San Martine, CA. She met the love of her life, Jim, working at "Dave's Donuts" in Hawthorne, CA and they have been together ever since. She loved spending time with her grandsons, Marciano and Kyle as they would spend many summers at the beach. Her activities were not limited; Cristina enjoyed bowling with her sister Rita in the PV Bowling League, venturing off to the casinos to play the slots or off to the track to catch a few races and you would always see her every year making tamales at Christmas. However, she could always be found in front of the TV when it came to the channel 7 soaps but most of all she just "Loved the Simple Life". She is survived by her Husband, James Hendricks of Camarillo, CA, Daughter, Sabra and Marciano Sabio of Camarillo, CA, Brother, Steve Barbosa of La Mirada, CA, Sister, Rachael Heiber of Santa Rosa, CA, Sister, Irene Upegui of Salem, IL, Brother, Edward Barbosa of Los Angeles, CA, Sister, Rita Benites of Las Vegas, NV, Grandson, Marciano Sabio of Camarillo, CA, Grandson, Kyle Sabio of Camarillo, CA, Step-Son, Dan Hendricks of Bakersfield, CA A gathering of family & friends will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2008 from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Rice Mortuary in Torrance, CA. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 10:00 AM. A family reception will follow the service at the mortuary.
