Conrad Christopher Alegria passed away at his home in Gardena on November 7, 2017 surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born on July 27, 1960, in Inglewood, CA. Conrad grew up in Gardena, CA and attended Gardena High School. He is survived by wife, Kathy; children, Gina Moss and her husband Willy, Brandon Barbosa; 2 grandchildren, Willy and Ryan Moss; mother, Adela Sapien; his sisters, Theresa Prieto, Michele Miyashiro and preceded in death by his brother, Gilbert Rodriguez. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Michelle, Aaron (Rosey), Matthew, Morgan, Clay, Courtney and Shelby; and a host of other loving friends and relatives. In 1987 Conrad walked into the Burnt Tortilla restaurant in Gardena as a customer- he never left! There he met the love of his life, Kathy. For the next 30 years they worked side by side at the family restaurant. He was also employed as a Longshoreman in San Pedro, CA. Conrad loved his family and friends unconditionally - he didn't care who you were and where you came from - he treated everyone with dignity. His loyalty and love was evident in the way he protected his loved ones. They knew that they could depend on him no matter what. No task too big, no distance too great, if you called Conrad you knew he would be there. He touched the hearts of many, especially his friends, the locals and the homeless of Gardena. Conrad was affectionally known as "Mr. Gardena". No crime committed, no juicy gossip nor any love triangle, would escape his notice - he was everywhere! To all that had the privilege of knowing him, Conrad will be remembered for his compassion, selflessness and his incomparable generosity. He will be dearly missed.
