Connie Elliott (Manhattan Beach, CA) passed away in Torrance, CA after a brief illness. She was born in Islip, New York and lived in Bayshore, New York before moving to Gainesville, Florida in 1954. She graduated from the University of Florida in 1960 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. In 1960, she relocated to Southern California with her husband who was stationed at the Air Force base in El Segundo. She worked for 39 years at Anza School in the Wiseburn School District primarily teaching kindergarten. She is survived by her two sons Jim Elliott and his wife Terri (Huntington Beach, California), Bob Elliott and his wife Ana (Rancho Palos Verdes, California) and eight grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Kathryn Canon (Gainesville, Florida) and Ilona Parker (Cocoa Beach, Florida) and many nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 7:00 pm and the Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 10:00 am. Both services will be held at American Martyrs Church, 624 15th Street, Manhattan Beach, California 90266. Interment will follow in Gainesville, Florida . In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation ( whose research directly benefits one of her granddaughters.
