Morris, Charles Stanley , a 41 year resident of Hermosa Beach , passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at his home. Born in Egham, England, Stan was 85 when he died. He was a test pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force for 25 years and held the rank of Flight Lieutenant. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Helene; son, Richard Morris of Torrance, CA, daughters, Debby (Robert) Dyer of Weslaco, Texas, Elizabeth (Victor) Silva of Los Osos, CA and Virginia (Randy) Platisha of Torrance, CA. Stan is also survived by eight granddaughters, Andrea (J.W.) Wilson, Melanie Dyer, Lauren Silva, Allison Silva, Karen Silva, Cassie Morris, Shaina Morris and Rebecca Platisha. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, February 21, 2004 at the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Redondo Beach. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, L.A Chapter, 5900 Wilshire Blvd. #1710, Los Angeles, CA 90036.

  1. i am a childhood friend of virginia, we use to call her virgie. we went to junior high together and some high school she turned me on to dan hicks and his hot licks band. i will never forget walking up the their home in redondo beach, and stanley making, his famous zuchnni bread. it was the best. especially with butter right out of the oven. he was so cool. i would beg him. for a loaf to take home. and of course he would. those were great memories of him. baking in the kitchen. i wish him peace now. always evangeline alamares aka: vangie. bless his heart
