January 31, 1937 ~ July 11, 2007
Long time Redondo Beach resident. Charles (Tom) Fouts passed away on July 11, 2007. He was born in Houston, Texas on January 31, 1937 and moved to California at the age of seven. Having lived in Redondo Beach previously, he returned and spent the remaining 34 years of his life with his loving wife Charlotte. He is also survived by his daughter Michelle Ringus and son-in-law Rob, his son, Kelly Barr and wife Gina, his grandchildren Brant Dickinson, Shane Keliihoomalu, Brandon Ringus, and Justin Ringus plus four great grand children. He served our country in the Air Force and was a noted civic activist. A true icon of Redondo Beach and the South Bay, he was a charter member and past president of the North Redondo Rotary Club, a charter member and past president of the North Redondo Beach Business Association, a life time member of the Elks Club of 45 years, a long term member and past president of the Redondo Beach Round Table, and for many years an executive board member of the Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce. He had the privilege of being chosen Redondo Beach Man of the Year in 1990. He was an entrepreneur owning a construction company prior to building a shopping center in 1980 in his beloved Redondo Beach. He was an avid USC fan and tailgater, golfer and theater patron, but most of all a family man. You may honor this great gentleman at his viewing 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 17, 2007 and his service at noon on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at Rice Mortuary, 5310 Torrance Boulevard, Torrance, California.
