Charles Albert Lanthiez, a 51 year resident of Rancho Palos Verdes, passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2010, surrounded by his friends and his companion of 24 years. Born in Baralle, France, Charles was 88 when he died. Charles was a lifelong learner who approached everything new with his hands, head and heart. He was a very practical man who loved life and enjoyed nature, leading him to be a strong supporter of the Nature Conservancy. Charles had a passion for photography, WWII history, politics, good conversation and traveling. Charles owned and operated an import auto shop in Manhattan Beach for many years. Charles is survived by his Domestic Partner, Karin Campbell, his son, Pierre, daughter, Marie Alice, and grandchildren Emmanuel and Alexander. He is also survived by family from France, Australia and Argentina. Charles will be missed by many friends from around the world. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Rice Mortuary in Torrance on Monday, June 7, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

  6. Marilyn and I had never had the pleasure in meeting Charles but we knew of him through Karin and Robert Rogers. We would like to say how sorry we are to hear of his passing but feel good in knowing he is with the Lord and he is helping the Lord with his Flock in heaven. God Bless You Charles and Rest In Peace.I know the Lord held out his opened arms to him as he passed and when he arrived to the Gates Of Heaven he was greeted with open arms waiting to receive Charles.
