Charlene Sachie Arias

Charlene Sachie Arias, 68, of Gardena, California, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023.  She is predeceased by her father Henry Oshiro and brother Rob and survived by husband Richard, mother Betty, sisters Doreen Watanabe and Kathy (Dwayne) Inouye, step-daughter Carla Cherie (Greg) Saliba, grandchildren Emily (Chris) Mares and Brent Bowles, along with two-great-grandchildren, many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

Charlene was born on April 26, 1954 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Betty and Henry Oshiro.  She and her family moved to Gardena, California in 1956 where she attended 153^rd Street Elementary School, Peary Jr. High School and graduated from Gardena High School in 1972.  Charlene had a talent and love of performing arts, learning hula from and performing with Kanani Kalama’s Hula Halau for a number of years.  She enjoyed traveling locally, going to concerts, jazz festivals, wineries, visiting friends and family.

Charlene was loved by everyone she met and embodied the aloha spirit, extending affection and warmth in caring with no obligation in return.

We are holding a private viewing on Monday, March 13, 2023 at Lighthouse Memorials & Receptions – McMillan Center. To honor Charlene’ memory, we are holding a Celebration of Life on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at Torrance Moose Lodge 785, 1020 Sartori Avenue, Torrance, California 90501 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Casual or Aloha attire.
