Chandrakant Kashalchand Patel, 85, passed away on November 22, 2022, with his loving family by his side. He was born to the late Kashalchand Patel and Parvati Mehta on April 11, 1937 in Moulmein, Burma. He was married to Mradula Patel in 1964. He spent over 30+ years in Chicago, Il. and the last 16 years in Yorba Linda, CA.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mradula Patel, his son, Manish Patel, of Laguna Beach, CA and daughter and son-in-law, Deepa and Tarun Vanjani of Yorba Linda, CA. He is also survived by his four beloved grandchildren, Kyle (24), Evan (22), Dilan (10), and Leika (7).
Chandrakant was the patriarch of our family and the center of our home. His greatest strengths were his positive outlook on life, his ability to connect with people of all ages, and ensuring acquaintances felt they had known each other for a lifetime. He was an adventurous traveler, a fierce competitor when playing cards, an avid viewer of politics, and made the best Indian chai. He was the biggest cheerleader of his four grandchildren who in return gave him so much happiness and laughter. To us, our Dad, stressed the importance of forming and maintaining relationships with family, friends or strangers. He effortlessly formed connections and instilled in us the importance of maintaining ties.
Dearest Dad, you have touched our lives and will remain in our hearts. Your light will forever shine within us.
