Catherine Gigliello Ciampa, a resident of Torrance for 60 years, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2012 in Harbor City. Born in Boston, Cathy was 77 when she died. Cathy was a homemaker, a volunteer, and previously worked for Reynolds Metals, Hughes Aircraft and the Torrance Unified School District. She was a long-time parishioner of St. James Catholic Church. Cathy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James D. and Michele Ciampa of Pasadena; daughter Candice Ciampa of Lomita; granddaughter Audrey Ciampa and grandson Vincent Ciampa of Pasadena; brother and sister-in-law George A. and Anita Gigliello of Indio; and niece Victoria Gigliello Yates of Colorado Springs. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, James A. Ciampa. A gathering of family and friends will be held at White and Day Colonial Mortuary on Thursday, August 2, from 4-8pm, with a Rosary at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. James Catholic Church in Redondo Beach on Friday, August 3 at 10am. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City.
