  1. There will always be a special place in my heart for Mrs. Appell, I remember as a child her home as the gathering place for all the kids in the neighborhood. She had such patience with all of us and there were a whole lot of kids on the block! My sympathies go out to Mrs. Appell’s 6 children, Robert, Francis, Maureen, Will, Mary and Tish. They are a testament of what a wonderful, kind and loving mother and woman she was. She will be truly missed.

  2. Mom, Thank you for loving us and taking care of me for these past 50 years and it feels good to know that you will continue to do so for the next 50. LOVE, France.

  3. Chris and I would like to extend our deepest sympathy to the Appell Family. Catherine was a “dear friend” of Florence Lynch’s and we felt like she was family. It was such a pleasure having her join our family and friends at our annual Christmas parties. Hearing her beautiful voice while we sang Christmas carols shall be remembered always, as well as,those Irish songs she belted out at the St. Catherine’s St. Patrick Day dinners. May you find solice in all your wonderful memories of her. Fondly, Chris & Charlotte Lynch

  4. How can I put 40 years of friendship in a few short sentences. I marvel at her Love, Compassion, Strength, and her Zest for life She always put others cares and concerns ahead of her own needs. She was the first person I met when we moved to California. She was a true friend, whom I will miss dearly. Many Irish Blessings, Catherine.

  5. Tish, Mary & the rest of the Appell Family, I was very sorry to hear of the loss of your mom. Having lost my dad over a year ago, I know what you are feeling and my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I pray you are comforted by memories and strengthened by the knowledge that your mom is in our Lord’s loving arms. May God Bless you all with His Love and Grace.

  6. for Tish, Maureen, Mary and Francis, thank you for memories and times back 30-odd years ago Catherine was always there for my Family. I will miss Catherine’s singing at St. Catherine’s “St Patty’s Day” in March, – every year. My mother, Carolyn, Catherine, and Larry Carnahan, Fr. Zwissler, and all the rest of our parish in Torrance you are my Family that I grew up with !. Love you forever. Anne
