Carolyn Nadine "Deanie" Rapp December 28, 1913 – October 12, 2011 Carolyn passed away at age 97 in Redondo Beach, CA. Her children, Judy Rapp Smith of Los Angeles CA and John Robert Rapp (Dianne) of Mineral Wells, TX, and her grandchildren, Susanna (Matthew), Sudie, Jennifer (Fred), Elizabeth (Chad), and Kathryn (Benjamin) and eight great-grandchildren survive her. Her parents, Oscar and Sudie Williams Corbin, moved with her brother, Robert, from Indiana to Oklahoma and traveled through Oklahoma in a covered wagon just before the Territory was granted statehood, and where Carolyn and three more siblings, Evelyn, Shirley and Garnet were born. They grew up in Oklahoma City, where she graduated from Classen High School and attended Oklahoma City University. She married Robert "Bob" Rapp and eventually moved to Chino, CA where they bred and raced thoroughbred horses. Bob died in 1985 after 48 years of marriage. Deanie loved the races and maintained a box at Santa Anita where she had many good friends. She will be remembered privately by the family. Memorial gifts in her name may be sent to the Don MacBeth Memorial Jockey Fund, P.O. Box 18470, Encino, CA 91416. Her obituary will appear in The Daily Oklahoman, Los Angeles Times and the Chino Champion.
