Caroline M. Hickey 05-02-1922 - 05-26-2007 Longtime South Bay resident Caroline Hickey, passed away peacefully on 05-26-2007. Raised in Denver Colorado she met the love of her life, Francis Paul Hickey at a USO dance and married 08-09-1946. They moved to Manhattan Beach California to raise their family. Widowed at the age of 38 with 5 children ages 3 to 13, she became one of the original supreme, super single moms before there was such a definition. She provided a good life for Michele, Fran, Dan (Honda), Margaret and Kathleen. Many knew her from her 25 years of work in the Manhattan Beach City Hall Water Department, a job she enjoyed tremendously, or from being a parishioner at American Martyrs Catholic Church for over 28 years. She loved to travel vacationing in Yosemite, Sequoia, up and down the Pacific Coast. She traveled to Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii and Ireland. She had a strong Catholic faith which sustained her through her many losses. She was always ready with a chuckle, smile, or wink. She was proceeded in death by Francis Paul Hickey, husband, Francis Paul Hickey II and William Daniel Hickey, sons. She is survived by her daughters Michele Hickey, Margaret Hickey Myers, son-in-law Bill Myers, their children Alice, James, and John Michael. Kathleen Hickey Sisson, son-in-law Brian Sisson, their children Dan and Colleen, Dan's wife Jen Sisson and great granddaughter Elsie Elizabeth Sisson. George T. Cull brother Bernice Jones cousin and her special friends the Marine Street Crabs.
