Carol "Sue" Gallagher of Redondo Beach passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2015. Sue was born in Sacramento, CA on November 20, 1939 to Harold and Ruth Atherley. As a young girl she and her family moved to the South Bay where she graduated from Westchester High School with the class of 1957. During her teenage years Sue and her family moved to Redondo Beach, which she embraced as her beloved lifelong home. As the proud daughter to an entrepreneurial mother, Sue helped grow her family's many businesses, including the Yum Yum Tree, on the Redondo Pier before concluding her career at Adelphia/Time Warner Cable in Hermosa Beach. Sue was a dedicated, longtime member of Hope Chapel Hermosa. She had a love for writing and comedy and performed in a local comedy troupe in the 1990's. In 2007, Sue fulfilled the dream of her lifetime by traveling to Israel with the Hope for Israel ministry. Her experiences in the Holy Land left an everlasting impression upon her that she loved to share. Sue was most known for her love of the Lord and family. She leaves behind her children, Cyndy (Fernando) and Christopher Deese; grandson Matthew Deese; sister Patti Cook; nephew Frank Cook as well as her dear friends and extended church family at Hope Chapel.
