Carmen Gonzalez

Gonzalez, Carmen an 88 year resident of Redondo Beach, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2000 in Torrance. Born in Redondo Beach, CA, Carmen was 88. In high school, she was awarded Second Place in the California Spelling Bee. She was a landlord for over 50 years. Carmen was a member of St James Catholic Church. She is survived by sisters Ruby Moore and Irene Fisher of Redondo Beach and Mary Hazen of Vista; brothers George Gonzalez and Jessie Gonzalez of Redondo Beach along with many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday December 26 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Rice Mortuary, 5310 Torrance Blvd. in Torrance, with Rosary Services beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Mortuary Chapel. Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, December 27, at 10:00 A.M. at St James Catholic Church in Redondo Beach. Burial will follow with procession to Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City.
