Carmen Fowler, wonderful wife, loving mother, generous friend, and dedicated Christian, went to be with the Lord on February 25, 2014. Carmen was raised on a farm in Edinburg, Texas along with her six siblings. She attended Pan American University and later earned her Master's degree in Administration. She worked at Northrop Corporation in human resources from 1975 to 1985. In retirement, she was very active and took great joy in helping in the community. Carmen proudly served with the Palos Verdes Women's Club, where she was President for two years. Another organization she served with was the Friends of the Peninsula Symphony, where she coordinated six annual fundraising galas. She was a member of the RHCC Choir and active with the RHCC Prayer Chain. Carmen read the Bible every day. She also served with the Community Helpline, the Friends of Wayfarers Chapel, Los Paisanos, and the Peninsula Gardeneers' Club. Carmen treasured her family and enjoyed laughter, travel, nature, volunteering, and most of all her love of the Lord. Carmen and Fred traveled internationally, and took a grand total of 26 cruises with family and friends. Carmen is survived by her husband Fred, daughter Lisa (and Bill), son Steve, step-son Rick (and Hollie), step-daughter Cyndie (and Pete), with grandchildren Danny and Katie, and her six siblings and their families.

  1. Dear Fred and family,

It was with great sadness that I learned of Carmen’s illness and subsequent death. I am sure of one thing; that she was prepared to meet the Divine, creator of all things, in tranquility and love. This should bring peace to all of you.

As human beings that practice faith and divinity, this is our ultimate goal; to join our Divine father in the perfection of the heavens. It was her time, she was called to a new life free of suffering, sadness and pain. Celebrate the freedom of her spirit now. Allow her to soar and experience the Divine and unconditional love that we all aspire to experience when our earthly life is complete.

My love is with all of you as you adjust to her absence and struggle through the “whys” and the shock and pain of it all. Time and love will heal you from this loss. Be patient, live in love and accept live as a process. Your friends are all here to support you whenever and however you deem necessary. May God bless you and dear Carmen who I will remember always with fondness and deep respect.
