Bobby Wayne Coleman was born on June 25, 1953 to Booker T. and Ella Pearl Coleman in Paducah, Kentucky. The family relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where Bobby attended High School and met Carolyn. From this union, his first son Mark Hawkins was born. Bobby joined the United States Marines Corps. During his service duty he trained as a career in Culinary Arts. He enjoyed cooking; some of his favorite dishes were collard greens, cornbread muffins and spaghetti.
He finished his USMC duty in Los Angeles, California, where he lived with his (late) Uncle Franklin D. Williams for a short time. Attending Los Angeles City College, majoring in Public Accounting, he fell in love with Antoinette Davis who gave birth to their daughter Lakisha Coleman. Antoinette Davis preceded him in death. He later met Nettie through his Uncle Franklin's church and to this union; there are three children, Bobby Wayne Jr., Nettie Elena and Jonathan.
Bobby accepted Christ at a young age. He helped out with community outreach ministry alongside his (late) uncle, Franklin.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his children; Mark Hawkins Sr., Lakisha Coleman-Lopez, Bobby Wayne (Jennifer) Coleman Jr., Nettie Elena (Robert) Coleman-Christopher, Jonathan (Tasha) Coleman, 8 grandchildren; Mark Hawkins II, Davarian Roberson, Dreadon Thompson, Lovett Brown, Tristen Prescott, Malaysiah Daniels, Romeo Bryant II, Matthew Lopez, 3 great grandchildren; Mark Hawkins III, Jaydn Hawkins, Jade Hawkins and twins due this year, his parents; Booker T. and Ella Pearl Coleman, his brothers; Aaron (Ruby) Coleman, Jerry (Joy) Coleman, Gregory (Debra) Coleman, his sisters; Marilyn (Calvin) McClain, Veronica Allen and Cathy Coleman, his Aunts; Hazel Scott, Ethel O’Neal, Ora Sharp, Burneva Hogans, Pinkie (John) Wesley, Patricia Williams and Mable Williams and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Bobby was preceded in death by his sister, Rebecca Coleman, his uncles; James Coleman, James Williams, Percy Williams and Franklin D. Williams, his aunts; Ruby Henderson and Ollie Crossley, his grandparents; Emmitt and Estella Coleman, George and Maggie Williams.
Bobby will be greatly missed by all who know and loved him.
