  1. Oh Mr. Bill. We are all so sad to lose that great smile and sense of humor. You were indeed the cutest man on the planet and will be deeply missed. My heart goes out to your whole family who are grieving your loss. You are healed now and fixing the gates of heaven I am sure.

  2. My deepest condolences go out to the entire family. I was on the West High Tall Flag team with his daughter Jodi and have recently become friends with his granddaughter Jamie and her family. My prayers are with you!

  3. Grandpa…. I miss you so much already and I thank God everyday for your loving and caring heart that always made sure we were all taken care of. You were such a wonderful man and I will never forget you! You will be with me every single day and I will never forget you. You are a hero in my book and you will forever be in my heart. Thank you for your love and caring ways… I could not have asked for a better grandpa… you are my angel! I love you!

  4. Dear Dad, I have never experience such a loss in my heart with you not here in all of our lives anymore. I thank you for everything you have done for me! You were not only my father, you were my best friend that I could talk to about anything. You were my life line!!! I miss you dad. Marilyn

  5. Ah Billy! You are missed so terribly by so many people. The light you brought into any room you walked into will be so missed, you had such a smile! I remember the days Mandy and I would be over at Grandmas house and you were there, you were such a wonderful man and always will be! I promise to keep Mandy on her toes (even though I am thousands of miles away, lol) and I will make sure to spoil that grand baby for you when the time comes! Your an angel looking down on all and we hope you will always grace us with your presence! Grandma and Mom have so many people to watch over them, they will be ok. Mandy is being tough and staying so strong, you would be SO PROUD OF HER 🙂 Much Love,

  6. Dear Mr. Bowden and family, we wanted to let you know that our heart and thoughts are with all of you. We were just getting to know Bill and appreciate him for the man that all of his friends and family knew well and loved so dearly. We know that his spirit and all of his life’s lessons will remain with each of you. I think we were all lucky to know a man as strong, loving and wise as Bill. Our love goes out to all of you and we are so sorry for your loss. May you rest in peace Billy Bowden knowing you left a wonderful family to carry on your spirit.

  7. Bill, you are truly the only Grandpa I have known in my life and I’m so proud to have been able to call you my Grandpa. You have made my life the past 12 years with Mandy so much more enjoyable with just your presence. You were such an incredible man to your family and friends and someone I can aspire to be in my life, I thank you for all the time you took out of your day to help me with everything on the Nova, you gave so much and expected so little. I will never forget all that you have done for me, and that car will never leave this family, thank you for everything Grandpa, I will miss you forever.

  8. Grandpa~ I have waited awhile to sign your guest book because I don’t know what to say. You have always been the man in my life that I always expected to be here. Truthfully, I’m not quite sure how to go on without you with us but I know you would want us to go on and be happy and live a good life. Thank you for all the happiness and security you brought into my life. You are a person that everyone has always strived to be. So giving, loving and caring. I learned so much from you and will miss you more than I can ever say. When I think of you a smile comes to my face and warmth fills my heart. Thank you for all you have done for me, taught me and given me. You are an amazing man. I will miss you a lot and love you forever! I promise to help take care of the family and help Grandma in anyway I can. I learned that from you. The kids miss you and are praying to you every night. I am so glad you are our guardian angel. I love you so much Grandpa.

  9. Billy J.~ I lost both of my grandfathers when I first met James and I was so lucky to have had the chance to know and love you and could call you “Grandpa” You were always smiling everytime I saw you. The love and dedication your family has for you is truly amazing. Please tell my Grandpa’s that I miss them and love them so much. You are all angels looking down on us and I know we all will be guided by you everyday. My god daughter was born on the day you passed and I will forever beleive she is one of your angels you sent to us. Thank you for raising a beautiful family I will one day call my own and thank you for being the wonderful man you are. Love Always

  10. Grandpa – Like I told you earlier, thank you for everything. It is still odd to go into your home through the garage and take a peek into the den, and not see you relaxing in your chair watching a western. While I know you are in a better place, you will be missed forever. Thanks for always being there before, and I know that you are watching over everyone now. Love ya Grandpa.

  11. I know that I wrote before but had to write again. The slideshow was truely amazing and just shows what an amazing unit everyone is as a family. Thank you Mr. Bill for touching all of us who were lucky enough to have been in your family. You are and will be missed forever. Keep a watch on all of us and keep sending Jamie crickets cause she loves them. We just know that was you;-)

  12. My Dearest Daddy, I must say that losing you has torn my heart apart. By far my largest heart break. I may not have told you but you always have been my inspiration. You have shown us thru your actions that giving was your happiness and you never asked for anything in return. You will be missed beyond belief. I still wait for you to come thru the garage door and say something funny. Thank you again Dad for the trip to Oklahoma where you taught me how to fish. I’ll never forget when I caught that 19 inch Bass and you ran around that pond trying to catch a larger one but you only caught the bait for my fish. 🙂 You have touched so many hearts and I am so proud that I was able to have such a wonderful Father. Like the saying goes… God broke the mold when he made YOU! I will miss you every day. Until we met again! Love your youngest, Jody

  13. Bill has always been a man I have looked to with great respect. He loved his Fords but even though it was a cramp in his style he would help work on our Chevy. Of course we would hear jokes about our Chevy not running. We have all been very fortunate to spend time with him. I can still picture him in the den watching the old westerns. I loved him very much!! To all his loved ones left behind I send my love and prayers.

  14. I am a friend of Mandy’s and I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Melissa Beckerman

  25. Mr. Bowden, We would like to express our most sincere condolences to your family. We unfortunately only had the opportunity to meet you a few times. We can see by the out pouring of love respect and affection by your friends and family that you were a wonderful man, someone that gave so much to every life you touched. Your family was truly blessed by your love for life and fine spirit, Your positive influence on your family shows and will live in their hearts forever. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your lovely wife Dorothy, your children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and those that you leave behind. Rest in Peace Billy Joe

  26. My family and I send our deepest condolences. It was so sad to hear that you had left us. All I could think of is why didnt I stop by when I had the chance, knowing that I live pretty close to you. I miss you more than you could know. I always enjoyed the times that you and Aunt Dot came up to the mountains. I remember you taught me how to drive in the dune buggy on those windy roads, and sitting in your den watching all the old movies with you. It is sad to say goodbye, and I’ll always love you!!!

  27. I am so sorry for your family’s loss. I feel as though I knew Jamie’s Grandpa so much better than I did; his gentle strength and generous heart are present in so many of you. I see him in…the kindness and great patience with which Jamie and Brian have raised Hayley and Matthew, the unassuming and constant love that you show for one another, and the amazing closeness that you have as a family. These qualities are a result of the simple way that he was there for those who needed him, and never expecting anything in return(not to mention the love of his wonderful wife). The love that you show for one another today, and every other day, allows the life of this amazing grandpa, father, uncle, friend and husband to stay with us. He must be so proud of you.

  28. Dear Mrs Bowden,Marilyn,Scott,Dena &Jody on behalf of ALL Us (McArdle Girls) (Florence,Cheryl,Patty,Dawn,Karen) We want you to ALL know Your Family is in Our thoughts and Prays May Gods Love be with you all Mrs Karen Burke

  29. I can’t imagine looking across the street at your house and not seeing Bill puttering about. He will be missed by all the neighbors. Only this last year or so I got to know more about Bill. I asked him to check out my car and we chatted about cars and family and our homes before California. He told me that he was from a large family and we shared some very nice tales of our earlier years. I am writing this note to the family on here, because it is hard to come up with the words in person. If we can do anything to help Dot or the family, please let us know. We share in your hurt and we keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers today and through this trying time. Anita & Joe

  30. It saddens me to have heard of Bills passing; but from my heart, I send my deepest condolences to the Bowden family. He will be missed. God Bless All.

  31. It’s been 4 years today and I miss you just as much as I did then. We are all better people because we had you in our lives. I will always and forever love you Grandpa. You are always in my heart.

  32. 6 years and still feels like yesterday. I miss you Dad with all of my heart! You took a piece of me with you when you passed. You could fix anything but our broken hearts when you went away. Until I see you in the sky! I love you…. For eternity!
