Bernice H. Parham, daughter of Marie and Emil Fischer, passed away Monday afternoon, May 23, 2022, she is survived by her son Archer III and his wife Cynthia, grandchildren Brandon and Allison, great grandchildren Madeleine and Max, beloved granddaughter and grandsons-in-law.
Bernice was born on May 25, 1932 on a farm outside of Mackville Wisconsin. She graduated from nursing school with an RN degree and later went on to pursue a masters degree in marriage, family and child counseling, maintaining a thriving private practice for over fifteen years.
She loved to read novels, newspapers and educational magazines, play mahjong with her nursing friends, tend to her plants, play the piano (she played the piano as a volunteer at Torrance Memorial Hospital for many years), sing old songs, bake cookies, pies and cakes, take nature walks, but mostly she loved to be with her husband, family and friends. For me, her son, she was a stalwart friend and pioneer of the heart and mind, always encouraging me to look deeper and see the bigger picture. She will be missed.
