Mrs. Bernadette Jung-In Hahn of Torrance, California passed away peacefully on October 7, 2011. She was born April 8, 1934 in Yesan, Korea to Simon Kap-Soo Youn and Rosa Eu-Sook Park Youn. She attended Ewha Women's University and taught biology at Kaesong Girl's High School in Seoul, Korea. She also studied at USC for Clinical Laboratory Science and worked for 25 years as a licensed clinical laboratory technologist in various hospitals and laboratories. She married Kenneth Khee-Bok Hahn in 1962 in Los Angeles, California. She was a loving mother of three children John, Robert and Janice and a loving wife of Kenneth. She is survived by two sisters, her husband, children and five grandchildren. She was an avid knitting volunteer for Comfort and Aid for Patients (CAP) at South Bay and Little Company of Mary Hospitals. She was the recipient of the President's Volunteer Service Award, California Legislature Assembly's Certification of Recognition for Exemplary Commitment for Volunteering hours to Beach Cities Health District and California Senate for Outstanding Service and Dedication for Beach Cities Health District. Bernadette lived a devoted selfless life with dignity, diligence and honor. She touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. Viewing will be held at Rice Mortuary in Torrance (310 792 7599) on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 5:00 pm. Mass service will be held on Friday, October 14, 2011 at 10 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe. Internment services will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park.
