April 27, 1977 ~ December 9, 2021

Born in: Jordan
Resided in: Lawndale, California

Our beloved Batriecha Maimon (Betty) was born April 27, 1977, to Nabil and Lokris Maimon, in the country of Jordan. She was raised in the Greek Orthodox faith and brought up in a family where religion played an important role. When she was just a small girl, her family moved to the United States, where she lived out the rest of her life. She went to school and obtained her master’s degree in business. She spent her days working hard and putting 100% in everything she did. Most people who knew Betty will tell you she spent her time on earth making others happy and putting family first. When her parents where alive, she took care of them through sickness and health. Betty made sure her sister Doris and her niece Malaja Jorgey, where both well taken care of until her last day. She treated others with kindness. It didn’t matter if Betty knew you for minutes, days or years, she was always willing to help, even when it meant putting herself last. Everyone knew that Betty was the person to make you laugh, lean on when in need.

Betty never got married or had children of her own, but she was a second mom to her niece and took care of her like she was her own daughter. She treated all her cousins’ children as if they were her own, by playing with them, and spoiling them rotten, she was the aunt that would sneak them the sweets and toys when mommy and daddy weren’t around. She was a second mom to so many kids she came across, and as much as she loved them, they loved her back just as much.

She was the life of the party wherever she went, when she walked into a room, the room would light with her deep laughter and her loud voice. She brought so much happiness and beautiful memories. Betty loved music and dancing. She didn’t care if she was the only one dancing, whether at home, at a party, or even at her niece’s volleyball games any time they would score. She was right there jumping up and down supporting them with all her energy and love. Her positive spirit made her a joy to be around regardless of what was going on in her life, she always knew how to smile and make the best of the situation. Life couldn’t knock her down even on her worst days, but when God calls for us, there is no ignoring his command.

Betty was unexpectedly granted her angel wings on December 9, 2021. The Lord called her to join her parents and sister Angel in the gates of heaven. She is survived by her sister Doris Maimon and her niece Malaja Jorjey Hughes. She also leaves behind an abundance of aunts, uncles, cousins and their children, along with so many friends who are all so heartbroken by her departure. Betty loved everyone and everyone loved Betty. She will deeply be missed by the hearts she left behind on this earth.
