Papadopoulos, Basiliki “Bessie” Died in Redondo Beach, California November 30, 2007 at the age of 86 after a brief illness. Mrs. Papadopoulos (nee Triantafilou) was born in Antofagasta, Chile on September 8, 1921. She was married to Steven Papadopoulos who predeceased her in 1986. Mrs. Papadopoulos immigrated to the United States with her husband Steven and her five daughters in 1956. She is survived by her daughters Helen Servetas (George) of Manhattan Beach, CA, Ana Henning (Robert) of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, Fanny Birtsas (William) of Swartz Creek, MI, Connie Ebenhoeh (George) of Charlevoix, MI, and Ellie Sexton (Daniel) of Flagstaff, AZ. She is also survived by two brothers, Efino Triantafilou and Miguel Triantafilou both of Santiago, Chile. She leaves behind nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Papadopoulos was a skilled seamstress who worked for C & R Clothiers, Neginis Tailors and Capri Tailors in CA until her retirement. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, gracious to all, unassuming, and an inspiration to her family in the conduct of her life. She was a devout Orthodox Christian and a long-time member of St. Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church in San Bernardino, CA, and most recently a member of St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church of Redondo Beach, CA. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 pm on Monday, December 3rd, followed by a Trisagion Service at 7:00 pm at Rice Mortuary in Torrance. A Funeral Service has been scheduled for 11:00 am on December 4th at St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church in Redondo Beach. A private interment will take place on December 5th at Crestlawn Cemetary in Riverside. Donations in her memory may be sent to St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church.
