January 10, 1942 ~ May 6, 2005
Barbara Laurie Gorton, a loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend who loved crafts, travel, decorating, reading, and antique collecting, died May 6, 2005.
A 19-year Redondo Beach resident, Laurie had a 43-year nursing career, where she treated patients with compassion and humor. She most recently worked at the Surgery Center of the South Bay.
Her international travels took her to such destinations as Mexico, Africa, Egypt, the Galapagos, Spain, Portugal, Morocco, and Italy. She enjoyed photographing African wildlife and ocean wildlife, and collecting the arts and crafts of the cultures she encountered.
