Walter, Barbara Clare, a resident of Palos Verdes Estates, passed away on May 3, 2002. Born in Jamaica, West Indies August 5, 1946, she earned an MSW from Columbia University 1971, Mount Sinai School of Medicine 1978, completed residency at Kaiser Foundation Hospital 1979, post-doctoral residency in Anesthesiology at UCLA 1982, and was Board Certified, and practiced in Los Angeles and surrounding areas for 20 years. She is survived by her mother, Winnifred, sisters, Moira, Dawn and Vanessa, brother, Colbert, niece Ivana, nephew, Hugh, her canine children Tasha and Mercedes and numerous other relations and friends. Memorial services will be Saturday, May 11, 2002, at the Wayfarers Chapel, 5755 Palos Verdes Drive South at 9:30 a.m. sharp. Barbara was active in community and social activities as well as being a cornerstone in her extended family. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and she will be sorely missed by family and friends. For those wishing to express condolences, the family requests you make a donation in Barbara's name.
