November 20, 1945 ~ February 17, 2019
Barbara Ann Skinner was born to the proud parentage of Issac and Elizabeth Jones on November 20, 1945. They moved to Oakland, California in 1944 and shortly thereafter, they moved to San Bernardino, California. There she attended Mills Elementary School.
Barbara was baptized at the age of eight when she accepted Christ at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church in San Bernardino, California. In 1956 she joined the True Faith Baptist Church under the leadership of the late, Dr. Wilbert C. Wade.
Barbara attended Enterprise Junior High School, and matriculated later to attended Compton High school where she graduated.
Barbara met and fell in love with Otis L Skinner Jr, and united in holy matrimony on February 4, 1961. From this union the Lord blessed them with three children. Otis Lee Skinner 3rd and twins Marjorie Ann Skinner, and Margueritte Elizabeth Skinner. Margueritte preceded Barbara in death in 1962.
Barbara first company of employment was McDonnell Douglas aerospace manufacturing where she was employed as an aircraft inspector for 10 years. Eventually Barbara moved to another aerospace manufacturing called Northrop Grumman where she retired after 26 years of service.
God needed another angel so Barbara was called home on February 17, 2019. She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving husband of 58 years Otis Lee Skinner Jr, one son Otis Lee Skinner 3rd of Inglewood, California, and one daughter Marjorie Skinner-Riley (Xavier Riley) of Los Angeles, California. Two grandchildren Samantha Skinner of Las Vegas, Nevada , and Derek Riley of Los Angeles, California. One aunt Lucinda Harper of San Bernardino, California, one great granddaughter Sophie Miller of Las Vegas, Nevada and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and friends whom she cherished and loved.
