Greene, Barbara Ann, a 51 year resident of Manhattan Beach, California, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 in Torrance. Born in Moline, Illinois, Barbara was 84 when she died. Barbara was a homemaker and a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Barbara loved cats and always provided a treat or a shaded spot on her porch for her neighborhood cats and food and shelter for any kitty in need. She was an excellent seamstress and amateur historian; for several years she enjoyed "throwing pottery" on her own pottery wheel providing hand-made ceramic bowls and dinnerware for the family; she recently discovered and enjoyed watching the Food TV Channel.
She is survived by her Son, William Greene of Long Beach, California, and friend, Patricia Kirk; Son, Bradford, wife Theresa and her grandson Kelly Greene of Spring, Texas. Preceded in death by parents, Edwin Elmer and Viva Fay Grafton.
A gathering of friends and family for a Memorial Service will be held at White & Day Manhattan Beach Chapel on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. A reception will follow in White & Day's Lighthouse Reception Room from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M.
Barbara was married June 7, 1947 to Max Greene of Moline who died in 1980. They were married 32 years. She will be interred next to her husband in a family plot at Greenview Memorial Gardens, Masonic Section, in Moline, Illinois.
