Arthur
Kociencki, Arthur Casimir, a 37 year resident of Torrance passed away on Friday, May 21, 2004 in Torrance. Born in Buffalo, New York on May 25, 1914, Arthur was 89. He had been a certified Professional Civil Engineer with the City of Los Angeles for over 40 years, retiring as an Assistant District engineer. With his sons, he was active in the Boy Scouts of America and was a past president of the Mater Delorosa Retreat House. He enjoyed painting, refinishing furniture and playing the violin. A father of six, he is survived by his beloved wife Maria; sons Arthur Jr. and Michael, daughters Wanda, Margaret and Carol; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 27, 2004 at 1:00 PM at St. James Catholic Church, 415 Vincent Street in Redondo Beach. Cremation and interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City will be private. In memory of his daughter Joan, donations in lieu of flowers may be made to The National Children's Leukemia Foundation.
