Anne F. Brewer died at her home in Redondo Beach on Wednesday October 19, 2005 at the age 88. Services will be held at St. Lawrence Martyr Catholic Church, 1900 S. Prospect Ave., Redondo Beach, CA. Rosary service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, October 24, at 7:00PM. A Memorial Mass and celebration of her life will be held in the church, Tuesday, October 25, at 10:00AM. Anne was born in 1916 in Los Angeles, CA., one of 10 children, to Mr. & Mrs. William Morrissey. After completing her studies, she was employed as a secretary at Loyola University. Anne married Edwin L. Brewer in 1941 and together they had six children. Anne was a devout and active Catholic parishioner. Her family was the most important thing in her life. She was always there for her children at school functions, for Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts or in sports activities. Anne was a devoted and beloved grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with longtime friends and, after retirement, Anne & Ed spent many years traveling around the country visiting with their children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren. She particularly liked New Orleans jazz, Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald. Anne was a loving, compassionate role model for her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years. She is survived by her children, Patricia A. Muller of Jackson, MS, Anne T. Morley of Swan Lake, MT, Cecelia M. Wright of Coronado, CA, Mary Jane Brewer of New Orleans, LA, Edwin M. Brewer of Los Angeles, CA and Daniel J. Brewer of Cerritos, CA; sons-in-law Bob Muller & Greg Morley; daughters-in-law Carole Brewer & Uvonne Brewer; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister Genevieve Kellett and a number of nieces & nephews. Memorials may be made to the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation, Inc., 1205 North Rampart Street, New Orleans, LA 70116.
