Ecker, Anna Maria a 36 year resident of Lawndale, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2011 in Torrance, after a long illness with her sister and friends by her side. Born in Vienna, Austria, Anna was 76 when she died. Anna was a member of St. Joseph's Church. She came to America in 1964 where she made her permanent home. She first worked at Marplex, in Gardena, following Electronic Memories in Hawthorne. Then proceeded employment at Northrop where she retired in 1994. She and her sister Elfriede loved to travel and have seen a good part of the world, always together. With frequent trips to their homeland Austria. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Richard Ecker, sister Mary. She is survived by her sister Elfriede Ecker of the home, sister Hermine and brother Heinz, nieces Susie and Gittie all of Austria. Also, her loving companion Floyd Rogers and her friend Linda Morales. The telephone wires overheated many a times. Yes, we all remained a close knit family, though 8000 miles away. She will be sadly missed but always remembered. A gathering of family & friends will be held at Rice Mortuary on Sunday, April 24, 2011 from 1 :00 to 4:00 PM The Service will be held at Rice Chapel on Monday, April 25, 2011 at 9:30 AM with a reception immediately following in Rice's Lighthouse Reception Room until 12:30 PM. Burial will be at Pacific Crest Cemetery at 1 :00 PM.
