May 10, 1910 ~ May 4, 2005
Angeliki Mikelatos-daughter of Spiros and Evridiki Menagatos was born on the Greek island of Cephalonia on May 10, 1910. She lost both her parents at a very early age. At the age of 17 she was married to Harilaos Mikelatos. The lived a very happy life of over 50 years and raised three children: Gerasimos, Jerry, Eleni, Helen, and Spiros.
Angeliki was a very pious woman, always drawing her hope strength and courage from her Greek Orthodox Faith. She loved embroidery and spent many years perfecting herself in this artistry. She had made many brides happy by hand embroiding not only their wedding gowns but their dowery as well.
Angeliki immigrated to the United States in 1952 with the two younger children to re-unite with her husband and oldest son ''Jerry'', who had left Greece right after World War II, and had started a new life for the entire family in Manhattan Beach, California.
Angeliki is survived by a younger brother ''Yannis''. She leaves behind 3 married children, 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Children as follows: Jerry (Melena) Mikilatos, Helen (Van) Dumas and Dr. Spiros Mikilatos. Grandchildren: Angelina (Fred) Mikilatos-Losey, Erika (Richard) Fanail, Markos (Carmen) Mikilatos, Nume (Angelique) Nitsiotes, Phillippos Mikelatos, Dr. Christine Dumas, Evangeline (Sam) Dumas-Crescibene. Great Grandchildren: Michael, Christopher, Skylar, Anthony, Athena-Helen.
Angiliki's most frequently expressed ''last wish'' to her children was ''May God bless you to stay as loving and close to each other after ''I go'' as you have been while I was with you''. May her memory be eternal.
